EWEM educates between 50 to 60 students per year, covering the top 0.5% of global demand for Wind Energy professionals with academic education.
The programme is offered by four world leading universities in Wind Energy research and education.

“EWEM has given me far more than just an education. It has given me the country where I want to build a future, and the woman who I want to do this with. When I started EWEM I did not realize how big my decision was, but exploring new countries and new cultures has proven to be a life-changing experience for me. I learned far more than just the basics of wind energy and companies recognized this. If you want to play with the big boys in the wind industry, international experience is a must, and knowledge of different cultures is essential.
Specializing in wind physics has provided me with the knowledge that I now use on a daily basis, at ROMO Wind in Aarhus, Denmark, where we build state-of-the art wind speed sensors. I am a key person in monitoring these sensors and in analyzing the data they bring home. I can recommend EWEM to anyone who is not afraid to move out of their comfort-zone, to anyone who wants to explore the world and of course also to those who are simply looking for excellent education.”
“One month after graduating with the offshore engineering track in EWEM, I started my industrial PhD at Rambøll Wind in Hamburg, Germany. My PhD project deals with the end-of-life decision of (offshore) wind turbines. Can operators extend the operation of wind turbines which reach the end of their design lifetime (typically 20 years)? This question is a hot topic in industry & academics currently – and the EWEM program prepared me best for the challenge. I apply knowledge gained in courses like Structural Dynamics, Load Identification and Offshore Wind Energy on a daily basis. A large benefit from my studies is: I already “saw how the wind blows” in the offshore wind industry due many valuable contacts that I gained through the EWEM network.
EWEM not only means studying at three universities (which is a worthwhile experience itself!) – it also means being part of group of students from all over the world that binds together more and more every day. The international experience is worth the struggle of moving your life every 6 month to another location for sure. For now, I am looking forward to settle down in Hamburg for a while. But when I tell you that I can’t wait to return to NTNU in Norway for a PhD secondment next year, you know how much I enjoyed any minute of this international master degree in offshore wind energy.”
“As a post graduate of the EWEM programme, I have to say that it has never been a day that I have regretted when I first submitted my application already 3 years ago. EWEM fulfilled completely my growing interest in wind energy while offered me the chance of discovering plenty of opportunities that would not have been noticed by me if I had never moved out of my comfort zone.
One of the most important elements by being a dual student at two different universities (DTU and TU Delft) in two different countries (Denmark and the Netherlands), was the perspective they gave me in problem solving, research and personal development compared to the ones I had already prior to the EWEM programme. A potential personal asset that you can keep in your pocket for future challenges.
Currently, I am an aerodynamic s & aeroacoustics design engineer at Siemens Wind Power A/S (DK), working in R&D projects related to outer shape blade design, aeroacoustics modeling applied to wind turbines and rotor performance validation which also involve some wind tunnel testing. A multidisciplinary and challenging work field where I work with specialists from all over the world.
I strongly encourage to anybody interested in this technological field to go for the EWEM programme, an excellent development, professionally and personally speaking.”
